Production / Installation Supervisor Position Available
Chesnut Signs is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead and oversee production and installation shift employees. This role ensures compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Location: Chesnut Signs, Des Moines, IA
Title of position: Production Supervisor
Position type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday – Friday; 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:
• Directly oversee employees and manage indirect reports within the production and installation teams.
• Develop and implement production schedules, allocate resources, and optimize workflows.
• Oversee project budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and mitigate risks.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth installation processes.
• Streamline graphic design processes and ensure alignment with brand guidelines.
• Oversee design production, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
• Implement and maintain quality control measures while enforcing safety protocols.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure projects remain within financial constraints.
• Manage inventory and materials to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization.
• Evaluate equipment performance and implement enhancements for greater efficiency.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Strong knowledge of production operations and machinery.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to analyze problems and implement effective solutions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
• Prior experience in a production or manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:
As our Sales Project Manager, you’ll work closely with our sales team, customers, installers, and internal departments to ensure smooth planning, execution, and completion of sales and service projects — with a primary focus on signage installation.
Your role includes:
• Coordinating materials, permits, schedules, and staff to meet customer deadlines.
• Managing open permits and ensuring compliance with municipal regulations.
• Communicating with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions.
• Overseeing office tasks such as record-keeping, ordering supplies, and basic bookkeeping.
• Facilitating site visits, installation updates, and customer meetings.
• Collaborating across teams to resolve project and design issues.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, vendors, and team members.
Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication abilities — both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently with minimal supervision.
• Proactive mindset and a knack for problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet-based tools.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to interpret and comply with municipal permit regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred but not required.
• Experience using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or sales tracking software is a plus.
